![]() | Sarawak, Borneo - July 2004 (24 images) Sarawak is a spectacular part of Borneo where rain forests and animals take center stage. Almost equally colorful are the native inhabitants of the island, Bidayuh, Iban and others. Although we did not see the Rafflesia, the largest flower in the world, in full bloom, we were quite content trekking in the Gunung Gadin NP, under a typical tropical rain to find a Rafflesia bud. The Orang-utans, aka Men of the Forest, at the Semenggoh Wildlife Center were quite a site. The baby in some of the photos is only a few weeks old. |
