Denali NP, Alaska - July 2005 (34 images)
Denali NP is by far the most spectacular national park I have visited in the US. From the multitude of landscapes that can be found at Denali, the most eye-catching is the flat tundra valley that is guarded by the glacier speckled mountains. This is not all. As much as one would think Alaska to be devoid of animal life due to the severe climate, this is far from the truth. Migratory and resident species of birds are abundant here. Grizzly bear, fox, caribou, dahl sheep and even lynx bestowed us with their presence. It seemed like we were lucky that day. After all, our guide mentioned that for the 11 years he has been a guide at the park, he cannot recall a day that was fruitful in terms of seeing so much wildlife, especially 3 separate packs of foxes, and two packs of wolves. And not to mention the lynx, which is normally seen by a guide about twice a year. Apart from the wildlife, the weather in Denali could not have been better; ok it could have been a little warmer and less cloudy, but it was bearable. With sunlight available 24/7, we could have gone all day if not for that annoying human need – sleep.
